Club Profile

Welcome to the Stirling & District Amateur Radio Society website

The club meets every week on a Thursday evenings at around 7.30pm at our premises within Bandeath Industrial Estate, Throsk, just outside of Stirling. The villages of Throsk is located about 3 miles east from the town of Stirling on the A905. see MAP

We are the premier Amateur radio club in the local area and along with our friends at Falkirk District Amateur Radio Society (GM0FRC / GS0FRC) account for most of the local activities within central region and since 1980 have done as much as possible to raise the profile of amateur radio with the local area.

We participate in contests as much as we can, talks are held as often as possible and hold training courses for foundation, intermediate and full license levels between Falkirk Club  (GM4NTX & GM8GAX) and Stirling (GM0MZB & GM1BSG).

THE DOORS AT GM6NX AND GM0FRC ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO VISITORS OF ANY LEVEL REGARDLESS OF LICENSE LEVEL OR STATUS!

The GM6NX site itself is well equipped and in an ideal location for large antennas. The shack has recently been overhauled by the members for better access and more facilities and upgrade work is also currently underway (hopefully finished by the end of 2007).

Due to an uptake in the interest of morse code, John GM3FDN is also holding practice sessions on Thursday evenings should anyone be interested.

Please take a look at some of the picture below for some pictures of previous contest activities by the GMDX / GM5A group as guests of GM6NX.
