As a follow on to the recently held Scottish ARDF seminar held by the RSGB ARDF Committee, an IARU Amateur Radio Direction Finding Event is to be held at Mugdock Country Park near Milngavie, north of Glasgow on Sunday 14 June.
As far as we know this is the first event of this type to be held in Scotland.

Summary
In association with the Lomond Radio Club, an 80m ARDF event will be held at Mugdock Country Park, Milngavie, North of Glasgow on Sunday 14th June.
Location and Directions
At the Mugdock Park Visitor Centre, Craigallian Road, nr Milngavie, Glasgow, G62 8EL, NGR NS546779. Follow the signs to the park from the A81 Glasgow to Strathblane Road.
Parking
At Visitor Centre: no parking fee. ARDF registration at North East corner of car park near the recycling point on the road to the Garden Centre.
Terrain
Popular Country Park. A mixture of forest, grassland, wetland and moorland with plenty of tracks and paths. After the recent wet weather some of the area is muddy and suitable footwear is advised.
Courses
Single classic 80 metres course of 5 Tx with option of shorter 4 and 3 Tx courses.
The event will be informal but will conform to the general IARU principles.
Fees
£3 (to cover cost of maps and equipment)
Receivers
We will have a limited number of loan receivers. If you do not have a suitable 80m receiver then let the organiser know well before the event and we will reserve equipment for your use. You should bring your own lightweight headset with 3.5 mm jack plug.
Map
A4 size, scale 1:10,000, contours 5m. You should supply your own waterproof cover, marker and compass. Pin punching will be used.
Facilities
* Toilets in Visitor Centre.
* Visitor Centre opens at 9:00am
* Tea room opens at 10:00am
Timings
* Registration from 11:00am
* First start time 11:30am
All courses start and finish at the same location which is near the registration point
Approx shortest course distances, 5 Tx - 3.5 km, 4 Tx - 3.0 km, 3 Tx - 2.0 km
Time Limit 120 minutes
* Last start time 2:00pm
* Course closes 4:00pm
Safety
Participants take part at their own risk. Whistles are advised.
In case of bad weather participants may be required to carry water- and wind-proof tops (aka cagoules).
