Hi all
CQWW SSB leg will take place Sat 24th and Sun 25th October 2009.
Thats not very far away.
Some tasks need complete regards antennas etc but all workable before the date.
Equipment availability should be OK for M2 and I have some other ideas on toys and other parts.
As far as I am aware Ally and Frank will be handling the scheduling as they want to do the full 48hr stint, if they are still up for it we will all need to pitch in in all other areas to take the pressure off to make it happen.
A lot of people have already committed or part committed (the -PT beside the name in the board in the meeting room) and everyone should feel free to invite as amany people (they do not have to be licensed, they might just be interested) as possible over the weekend to see the radios running and the guys in action.
I think the best way is for Ally / Frank to co-ordinate the ops and schedules with everyone elses backing.
Anyone interested who has not already committed can feel free to reply here or via PM directly :mrgr

It is suggested an outline meeting plan 24th September with tentative volunteers for ops (not full commitment)
Follow up meting 8th October with hopefully more firm volunteers
Final scheduleing meeting and task list 15th October to allow time to get any additional work done and op schedules drawn up.

Fellas,
After I had got home from the club on sunday it occurred to me whether there is any merit in getting the 80m dipole higher up above ground before CQWW start this friday ? I had an idea to string it between the log periodic tower and the 40m beam tower. I reckon this would make it more formidable for the contest. Thing is we kind of missed the boat on sunday to do it in daylight. Anyone got any ideas on this in terms whether there's mileage in it or practicalities ?
I could leave work early friday before it gets dark.

Yes Iain you're right it was a cracking weekend of operation......I thoroughly enjoyed it even though there were a few 'low points' in alertness. We operated much more efficiently this year and reached a pretty good score of 1 300 000 points (over 3000 QSO points). Good team effort all around I thought especially from John who kept us all right on tech support and keeping a clinically clean kitchen and Frank who blazed a clear trail for us. I just hope we have done enough to push for the "flag".
great weekend...loved it. Bring on the next one.

Yip
Absolutely fantastic team effort, great turn out and the first time the doors have been open for the full 48 hrs of the event.
If I get time I will pull the previous years logs and see how it compares QSO's/Time on.

Guys, Roger G3SXW is chasing for high scoring logs that have not been received at CQWW HQ. The GM6NX log is one of them.........
-------------------------
Dear UK-Contest,
Each year we ask for help securing large missing CQWW logs. This also provides a safety net in case it has been sent but lost. Here are the UK stations which appear in at least 500 other CQWW SSB logs. Many thanks for any help,
73 de Roger/G3SXW.
