Hi all.

I have received an e-mail regarding low audio levels from GB3FE, so I visited the club today and checked them on the Marconi 2955 and noted the following levels

1.5KHz output for 1.5KHz input
2.48KHz output for 2.5KHz input
Over 2.9KHz output for over 5KHz input

The ident level is 1KHz with the CTCSS encode level of 300Hz.

Remember that GB3FE is a NARROW deviation repeater, as ALL 2 meter repeaters should be in the UK, so if your radio is set to wide the repeater will sound quiet and you will cause distortion on the repeater when you transmit through it, so please remember to setup your radio for Narrow deviation.

Let me know if there are any more problems.

Kind regards

Hi all

Over the weekend GB3FE was taken off the air and the logic was modified as in the same way that GB3OH was modified.
The original design only gives one Tx level adjustment which controls talkthrough audio and CW levels, so the logic now has CW level adjustment and talkthrough level adjustment.

After several hours of tweaking the various and experimenting, I have settled for

CW ident level 1khz
CW ident level during talkthrough 500Hz (level automatically drops by 6db)

This will cure the problem of the CW ident drowning out users audio.

Hope this suits the local users
