I have had a request from BOB K6QXY to work him on 6m EME as he has not worked Scotland on 6m EME. If you dont know who Bob is have a search on google and have a look at his station!
Initial arrangements have been made for a sked on Thursday March 30th @ 19:45 - 20:45 UTC
This is a club night so I thought it might be of interest to club members to see a live 50Mhz JT65A Earth moon Earth contact with Bob's station in Santa Rosa California.
He uses 8 x 5el Yagis mounted for verical polarisation 2 over 2 over 2 over 2. He should be relatively easy to work!
Anyone wanting more information on JT65A have a look on W7GJ Lances website and the guy who invented it K1JT think he has a Noble prize for his work in Physics!

Will you be using the array you are building just now?

Hi Colin, I would like to have a look at this also - never having done any 6m EME!
Can we perhaps share a car through to the club?

Well not much :
I didn't see you till your moon was ~ +2deg. +76HZ dt=3.5 sec. BUT NO
decodes. W1JJ & K1SG were monitoring but they did not see you either. How high
is your ant?? looks like your ground gain is very close to your moon set??
I quit a little early as it started to rain and my VSWR started to rise.
Our next good days are the 13th & 14th.but the times may not be good for
you ~ 0530Z
Thank's for running pse let me know what you saw on your end. I was
running ~ 2KW out to array 18.6 dbd gain.

Hi Bob, David GM4JJJ here... I was through with the guys yesterday for the sked.
Amazingly we were also ready early and heard you testing, so we started a couple of minutes before the official start time.
We got about 9 periods of solid copy at strengths up to -21dB, Sync 10 and DF about 70Hz. Then you got much weaker, we stopped transmitting at about 1.7 degrees because of QRM from the building alarm system which had to be switched on at that time (it adds 6dB to the noise floor!).
It was a thrill for us to hear your signal and get the solid decodes. The antenna is about 30 feet high. The PA was kept at 500 watts due to cooling concerns - Colin is very wary of running more QRO as the tube blew the first time he tried JT with Lance. The 6dB extra at your side certainly helps a lot!
The operators at GM6NX were Colin GM0RLZ (his Rig and Amp) And Stu MM0BSM (his laptop), and myself (general advice and criticism).
Looking forward to another Sked, I'll sure we can make it. Colin will no doubt be in touch to arrange a suitable time.
I'll need to review the files Stu saved and get the times of the best decodes, but from memory it was about 5 or 6 degrees elevation.

here is a screen shot after we stopped
shows the info of the decodes
the noise level is when alarm was switch back in to line so ignore the level it was 0 db when off line
